Turkey Feathers

Materials:

  • Contact paper

  • Craft feathers (you can buy some HERE)

  • Painters tape

  • Construction paper

  • Turkey template (free download HERE)

Step 1: Cut a piece of contact paper and remove the paper backing.

Step 2: Use the painters tape to tape the contact paper to the wall. This is great vertical play work- so good for strengthening the core and improving balance. The sticky side should be facing out.

Step 3: Download and cut out the turkey body. Stick it to the contact paper.

Step 4: Put out the craft feathers and stick them to the paper to create a turkey! Pull them off when you’re done and play again!

Feather Pull

Materials:

  • A strainer

  • Turkey template (FREE download HERE)

  • Craft feathers

Step 1: Download and print the turkey template. If you want to, you can tape this to the front of the strainer!

Step 2: Stick the feathers into the holes of the strainer.

Step 3: Encourage the kids to pull out all of the turkey feathers!

You can add an extra layer of fine motor fun by using tongs or tweezers!

Stick them back in and play again!

Feather Beading

Materials:

  • Craft feathers

  • Pony beads

Step 1: Pick out a few feathers to use.

Step 2: Choose beads in the same colors: so if you use red and blue feathers, pull our read and blue beads.

Step 3: Encourage kids to identify the colors and string them on the feathers.

This is great for strengthening fine motor skills and also works on color identification, sorting and hand-eye-coordination!

Beads are a choking hazard. Always monitor young children.

Feather Push

Materials:

  • Craft feathers

  • A container with slits/holes in it (this is an empty breadcrumb container)

Step 1: Clean your empty container. Put slits in the top.

Step 2: Encourage kids to push or drop the feathers into the container.

This is harder than it looks! It works on fine motor skills, balance, coordination and more!

Empty the container and play again!
