In this BLOG post I will teach you how to make a candy can fingerprint craft and share a free printable.

There is nothing I love more than a sweet fingerprint/handprint craft, especially during the holidays!
They're simple, fun and oh-so-sweet!
This candy-cane themed fingerprint craft will be your new favorite tradition! They are perfect for at home, in the classroom or as a gift for a family member.
Why Fingerprint Crafts?
Great question! Fingerprint art captures a moment in time, literally! Each print is unique, making your candy cane extra special. Plus, kids love the tactile experience of dipping their fingers in paint and seeing their artwork come to life.
Do they want to use their pointer finger instead of their thumb? That is OK!
Do the colors blend all together? Love it!
This is meant to be about the kiddo and however they create it, will be cute as can be!

Materials:
Washable paint (we used red and white)
Cardboard or construction paper
Printable Candy Cane Poem
Pencil
Glue stick
String (if you want to hang it up!)
Wipes and/or paper towels
Step 2: Draw a candy cane shape in pencil. Squirt out a few drops of red and white paint.
Step 3: Encourage the child to dip their thumb into the paint and rotate red, white, red, white.
Step 4: Glue the poem onto the paper and let dry. If using the printable, just let it dry!

Variations:
Glitter Finish: Sprinkle glitter on the wet paint for extra sparkle.
Family Cane: Have each family member add their fingerprint in different colors.
Mini Versions: Create smaller candy canes for holiday cards or place settings.
Write their name (or have them write it if they can!) and the year. They're so sweet to look back on each year!

Why you will LOVE it:
This craft is quick, inexpensive, and heartwarming. It’s not just about the final product, it’s about the laughter, mess, and joy of creating together. Every fingerprint candy cane tells a story of the holiday season spent with loved ones.
