In this BLOG post I will teach you how to make a Christmas Handprint Wreath Craft!

There is nothing quite sweeter than a handprint craft. They are simple to create, they are unique and they serve as the most amazing reminder of how much our kids are growing, year after year.
It is a small, special way to capture a moment in time. They also make the most amazing gifts for family members and friends! We love pulling them out of our Christmas box each year, they have become a cherished memory we can't wait to hang up year after year.

Materials:
Construction paper
Washable paint (green and red)
Paintbrush
Liquid glue or glue stick
Scissors
Ribbon
Step 1: Use the paintbrush to cover the hand with green. You want a thin layer of paint so that you can see all of the lines and sweet parts of their hand.
Step 2: Gently press their hand on to the paper. Spread out all of the fingers and press down, then slowly pull the hand up. Continue this process until you make 10-12 handprints, depending on how full/big you want the wreath to be.
Step 3: Let them dry completely.
Step 4: Once they are dry, cut around the hands. This is a great way to work on scissor skills, if the child is able.
Step 5: Form the Wreath Shape- Arrange the handprints in a circle, overlapping them slightly to create a layered, leafy look. Glue them down as you go to secure the wreath.
If you want to add more festive fun, dip their finger in red paint and have them make 'berries' along the wreath!
You can add ribbon to the top and hang it up for all to see!

Tips & Variations
Use different shades of green paper for a more textured look.
Trace hands of all family members for a “family wreath” that shows everyone’s contribution.
Laminate the wreath if you want to preserve it for years to come.
This handprint wreath craft is more than just a decoration—it’s a memory captured in paper. Whether you’re crafting with kids, friends, or making one on your own, it’s a joyful way to celebrate the season. Every time you look at it, you’ll be reminded of the hands that helped make Christmas bright.

You will ADORE these, and they will make you smile year-after-year!
Worried about the mess? Here are a few tips:
Use a paintbrush to put the paint on their hands, instead of having them dip their hands in.
Before you begin, put wipes/paper towels and a trash can next to where you are crafting.
Wear 'play clothes' or an apron to help protect clothes.
Is it a nice day out? Take this outside!
Only squirt a small amount of paint out and keep adding as necessary!
Plan your crafts right before tub time!
Don't want to cut out all of those hands? Use a canvas instead! Stamp the hands in a circle, creating a wreath shape!
