Mystery Play Dough

Gina

Amazing for strengthening those very important finger and hand muscles that are necessary for skills like feeding yourself, zipping your coat, writing, and more!

Materials:

How To:

  1. Make your favorite play dough recipe, leaving out the food coloring.

  2. Divide the batch into balls, however many colors you want to do! (We like doing 6 for the colors of the rainbow).

  3. Take a ball of dough and flatten it. Add 2-3 drops of food coloring inside. Pinch the dough together to form a ball.

  4. Continue on with the remaining balls of dough.

  5. Ask your kids to take a ball and squeeze, smoosh, and stretch the dough until the color appears.

  6. This is a fun way to begin talking about predictions, as well! "What color do you think this dough will be?" "Was our prediction correct?"
